Privacy Policy — Blue vs Red: The Derby
Effective date: 5 October 2026
Blue vs Red: The Derby ("the game") is made by Soratus ("we", "us"), Achterste Kamp 44, 3751 JJ Bunschoten-Spakenburg, the Netherlands. Questions or requests: privacy@soratus.com.
In short
- You do not need an account, and we never ask for your name, e-mail address or other contact details.
- Your progress and settings stay on your device.
- The game shows ads from Unity Ads. Unity collects your device's advertising ID and some device and usage data to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask your permission before ads can be personalised.
Data stored on your device
The game saves the following in the app's local storage on your device:
- your campaign progress;
- unlocked units, towers and upgrades;
- settings;
- your ad choices.
This data is not sent to us. Uninstalling the game deletes it. You can also clear it directly:
- Android: Settings › Apps › Blue vs Red: The Derby › Storage › Clear storage.
- iPhone: delete the app.
Advertising (Unity Ads)
The game uses Unity Ads, a service of Unity Technologies ("Unity"), to show two kinds of ads:
- video ads between levels;
- rewarded ads that you choose to watch.
Unity acts as an independent controller for the data it collects. When the game starts the ads service, and when an ad is requested or shown, Unity may collect:
- your device's advertising ID: the Android Advertising ID, or on iPhone the IDFA, but only if you allow tracking (see below);
- device information such as model, operating system version, language, screen size and network type;
- your IP address, from which an approximate location (country/region) is derived;
- information about ads you see and tap, and diagnostic data such as crashes of the ads component.
Unity uses this to show ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure ad performance, and to detect fraud.
Where the law requires it (the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), ads are only personalised with your consent. The game asks for this the first time you start it, and you can change your choice at any time with the PRIVACY button on the campaign map. If you do not consent, you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your interests.
iPhone: after you choose personalised ads, iOS asks whether the game may track you (App Tracking Transparency).
- Ads are only personalised if you say yes to both questions.
- If you choose non-personalised ads, the game does not show the iOS question and does not use the IDFA.
- You can change this at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings › Privacy › Ads (or Google › Ads). For the data Unity holds about you, see Unity's privacy policy at https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy and the data request options described there.
Purchases
The "No ads" purchase is handled entirely by Google Play or Apple's App Store. We do not receive your payment details; the store only confirms to the game that the purchase was made, so the game can switch off the ads shown between levels. The store's privacy policy applies to the payment.
Legal bases (GDPR)
- Personalised ads: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
- Non-personalised ads, fraud prevention and security: our legitimate interest in offering the game for free and keeping it secure (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Purchases: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
International transfers
Unity is based in the United States. Transfers take place under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used the game and the ads service collected data, contact us and we will help you have it deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access, correct or delete your data;
- object to processing;
- withdraw consent;
- complain to a data protection authority (in the Netherlands: the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
The game has no accounts and we store no data about you on our servers, so we usually cannot identify you. You can delete the data on your device yourself, as described above. For ad data, use Unity's options or reset your advertising ID. We will answer any request sent to privacy@soratus.com within one month.
Changes
We will update this policy when the game changes how it handles data, and change the effective date above. Important changes are also announced in the game's release notes.
